Charity NGO Strategic Planning

We develop organisational strategies and fundraising plans for charities and NGOs. Our strategies use crucial tools such as theory of change  and are always jargon free.  Above all, they are actionable plans that aim to bring the whole team together and in agreement with the way forward.

In 2023 our consultants have been supporting organisations with their strategic planning, including Tor project in the USA, the Royal Hospital Chelsea, Montessori Group, ASSIST India,  and many more.

Our charity strategic planning consultants believe a strategy should be designed so it becomes the embodiment of the organisation, that within parameters is flexible and can adapt to a changing internal and external environment.

ASI will work with your team to develop a strategy that builds on your success and prepares you for potential opportunities and risks in the future.

We recommend that any strategy is stress tested across the organisation, involving stakeholders and investors, with the ability to change as people change.

Some key points when developing a strategic plan
  • Keep it flexible
  • It should help to establish realistic goals and objectives consistent with the organisation’s mission
  • Communicates those goals and objectives to the organisation’s constituents
  • Ensures the most effective use is made of the organisation’s resources
  • Focus on the key priorities. Understand what works and what doesn’t
  • Provides a base from which progress can be measured
  • Enables clearer focus of the organisation, producing more efficiency and effectiveness
  • A living plan that can change direction to seize on opportunities
  • Helps to solves underlying problems

Remember to regularly review and update the strategic plan to reflect changes in the organisation’s context, accomplishments, and lessons learned.

A strategic plan is a dynamic document, not a static one. It should guide the charity’s actions while remaining adaptable to changing circumstances. Involving key stakeholders and seeking external expertise can enhance the quality of the plan and increase its chances of success.

At ASI we are keen to be with you for the entire journey. If you need support in implementing the plan we can be on hand to do this, and will remian with you for however long it takes. We believe in our strategies and encourage organisations to use our skills to support the team with implementation.
