Dr Laura Basu

Laura has built extensive relationships internationally across the academic, non-profit and cultural sectors in her work to understand and transform social systems. Her experience is wide, including project design, fundraising, and strategic development. A very strong writer who challenges, inspires and mobilises. Originally from London, Laura now lives between the UK and Netherlands.

Laura recently served as Economics lead at the leading nonprofit organisation openDemocracy where she was responsible for fundraising strategy, donor outreach, grant proposal development and relationship management; overseeing grant reporting; managing the project’s budget; managing the team; giving media appearances and attending events. A wide portfolio and one she has handled with ease.
