Tom Nicholson is an award-winning freelance photographer and visual journalist with over 10 years of experience working with charities, NGOs, news agencies, and newspapers, both nationally and internationally.

He specializes in creating compelling storytelling imagery for a wide range of projects, including websites, social media, event coverage, and corporate communications, such as strategy documents, annual reports, and corporate events.


Experience and Expertise

Tom’s work spans news photography and feature assignments for both editorial and commercial clients. He is currently a stringer for Reuters News Agency and has photographed multiple heads of state, royals, A-list celebrities, and even the Pope.

Recent assignments include several three-week projects in the Middle East for an international NGO, coverage of Ukrainian refugees for The Times newspaper, and a self-funded project in Syria.

In the charity sector, Tom has been commissioned by organizations such as Save the Children, Humanity & Inclusion, Danish Red Cross, and SPARK.

His work has been published by leading outlets, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, and The Times, among others.
